Creating the Valleys Organic Dye Edition rug
Organic exploration
The Organic Dye Edition of the Valleys rug explores the possibilities of organic pigments for dying rugs and other materials. The project is a collaboration between Leolux, Studio Truly Truly and Tinctoria studio in Amsterdam.
Shortly soaked
After being folded as tightly as possible and tied firmly, the Valleys rug is soaked in the dye for a short amount of time, to let the purely organic pigments (like extra finely ground indigo/indigofera tinctoria) do their job.
Rinsed and dried
After the rug is taken out of the dye, it is rinsed and then dried thoroughly. The result shows a unique, naturally flowing colour.
