Nomination Limburg Design Award (Studio Truly Truly x Leolux)

Since 2020, Kate and Joel Booy of Studio Truly Truly have been Leolux's permanent art directors. For their merits in that role, they have now been nominated for the Limburg Design Award 2025 by the Municipality of Roermond. On 16 April, the exhibition ‘Design in Beweging’ opened in the Museum Cuypershuis, which introduces all nominees to the public

Studio Truly Truly

As art directors of Leolux, Kate and Joel Booy of Studio Truly Truly are responsible for brand design, the collection, (trade fair) presentations, photography and much more. They have fulfilled this role since the summer of 2020. Thanks to their advice, Leolux has significantly strengthened and expanded its position as an international high-end design brand.

Limburg Design Award

The successful collaboration between Leolux and Studio Truly Truly was also noticed by the selection committee of the Limburg Design Award. Every two years, this prize is awarded to designers with an idiosyncratic vision of design that contributes to the world around them. With their inquisitive and artisanal approach, and by bringing together different disciplines, they continue the legacy of Roermond's legendary architect Pierre Cuypers, according to the Municipality of Roermond and the Cuypershuis Museum. In addition to Studio Truly Truly and Leolux, Simone Post and Team Thursday are also in the running for the prize, the winner of which will be announced on 18 September.

Exhibition in the Cuypershuis

On 16 April, the exhibition 'Design in Motion' was opened in the Cuypershuis in Roermond. The exhibition features the work of the three nominees for the Limburg Design Award and the Harrie Tillie Prize (for young design talent). The work of Studio Truly Truly for Leolux also occupies a prominent place. In fact, the impressive 'Rhythms' installation, designed by Kate and Joel Booy for Leolux's participation in the prestigious Alcova during Milan Design Week 2023, has been rebuilt in the Cuypershuis for this occasion. A fine example of the artistic direction Leolux is taking in the collaboration with Studio Truly Truly. The glass side table Klaar is also part of the exhibition, as an example of the new forms of craftsmanship that Leolux has been exploring over the past five years.

Audience prize - voting in the Cuypershuis

This year, the Limburg Design Award also has a public prize. Voting for it can be done at the Cuypershuis itself. So if you have plans to visit this impressive museum about the work and life of Pierre Cuypers, don't forget to visit the ‘Design in Motion’ exhibition and cast your vote. Preferably on Leolux and Studio Truly Truly of course ...
